🚀 What’s New in Avima – April 2026

This update summarizes the most important product improvements released since our last demo in February. The focus this period has been on security, permissions, Boards 2.0, and continued improvements in New Documents.

🔐 Stronger Security & Authentication (Permissions 2.0)

Enforced Authenticator App (MFA) – Workspace Level

Administrators can now require all users to set up an authenticator app (2FA).
This significantly strengthens security and ensures compliance with customer requirements.

Admins can enforce MFA across the entire workspace
Users are guided through setup via email and login flow
Applies to both existing users and new invitations

👉 Result: A major step forward in making Avima enterprise-ready for stricter security environments.

We’ve simplified and improved how users get started and manage their accounts:

✅ Password required during invitation (no more “forgot password” loops)
✅ SSO users can now access “My Account” (e.g. update phone number)
✅ Cleaner and more robust onboarding experience

👉 Result: Less friction, fewer support cases, and more consistent account management.

Increased Transparency in Permissions

Project admins can now see access to all modules (including Start & Members) directly in the permissions view.

👉 Result: Better clarity on who has access to what — reducing confusion and misconfiguration.

🧩 Boards 2.0 – Continued Evolution (Q&A Focus)

New “Full” Permission Level

We’ve introduced a new Full permission level for Boards.

Enables users to manage board settings and permissions
Sits between Update and Admin
Allows delegation of board ownership without full admin rights

👉 Result: More flexible and scalable permission management for real-world project setups.

Multi-Select Filters in Boards

Users can now select multiple values in dropdown filters (e.g. multiple statuses).

👉 Result: More powerful filtering and easier navigation in complex boards.

Improved Board UI & Usability

Several usability improvements have been introduced:

Clearer filter labels (e.g. assignee)
Alphabetical sorting in dropdowns
Improved consistency (e.g. “From → To” alignment)

Custom Fields for Boards (Coming Soon)

We’re introducing custom fields for Boards, configurable at the project level.

Supports structured data (starting with single-choice fields)
Configured per project (not globally)
Will be applied directly in tasks

👉 Result: A key step in enabling migration from the legacy Issues module to Boards.

📁 New Documents – Phase 2 Improvements

More Descriptive Page Titles

Browser tabs now dynamically reflect context (folder, document, etc.).

👉 Result: Easier navigation, better link sharing, and improved usability for power users.

Improved Folder Management

Edit folder descriptions
Copy direct links to folder settings

👉 Result: Better admin capabilities and improved collaboration workflows.

⚙️ Workspace & Admin Improvements

Clearer “Select Project” Experience

The project selector now shows actual project names instead of confusing group labels.

👉 Result: A more intuitive and predictable admin experience.

Proactive Cost Awareness

Admins are now notified when they exceed their Avima Manager license limit.

👉 Result: Better transparency and fewer surprises in billing.
