Aug 2025 - Avima Product Update

📢 Avima Product Demo – Summary (Aug 27, 2025)

Here’s a summary of the main features presented during todays Avima Product Demo (presentation & teams recording)!

📁 Documents Module

🆕 Replace During Upload
You can now replace existing files directly during upload – either by overwriting or creating a new version. This includes support for replacing files even if they’re locked (if you are the locker).

🔔 Subscriptions Panel
See who is subscribed to a document, and manage your own subscription status with one click – similar to the task module.

🔗 Copy Link to Comment
You can now copy a direct link to a comment in both documents and tasks. When opened, the comment is scrolled into view and highlighted.

📋 Boards Module

📦 Archive Tasks
Users can now archive completed tasks to keep boards clean while retaining full history. Archived tasks are read-only and can be restored when needed.

🗑️ Updated Permissions for Recycle Bin
Only admins can see and permanently delete all items. Other users see only the tasks they deleted.

🛠️ Consistent Delete Logic Across Modules
Deleting permissions for tasks now align with how document permissions work.

🧠 Notifications, Mentions & Comments

Mentions No Longer Trigger Subscriptions
When you @mention someone, they’re no longer automatically subscribed. They now get a "click to subscribe" option instead – reducing inbox spam.

🗨️ Comment Enhancements
Replies, persistent input memory, and automatic mentions when replying have been added for a more intuitive experience.

🖼️ Other UX Improvements

🖼️ Image Preview
You can now click anywhere outside the image to close the preview – no more needing to hit the tiny "X" button.

📩 MFA SMS Update
We’ve removed the use of flash SMS for MFA – standard messages now support autofill and are more compatible across devices and countries.

🔐 Keep Me Logged In
A "Keep me logged in" checkbox has been added, removing friction for regular users. Already saving 15,000+ login steps per week!

🔌 Developer-Focused Update

📚 API Docs Now in Scalar
Our API documentation has moved from Swagger to Scalar – with improved readability, endpoint testing, and support for non-endpoint documentation.

🤖 Avima GPT Support ChatBot (Sneak Peek)

We’re continuously improving our internal support chatbot! It now includes:

  • API documentation answers

  • Permission explanations

  • Feedback loops for thumbs up/down

  • More structured responses

We’re building the knowledge base – so test it, break it, and give feedback! 🙌
